Father’s Day

Father’s Day is a special day in our house as that is the day we received our first son.  In Guatemala, Father’s Day is always on June 17th.  So now our “Family Day” is June 17th and Father’s Day is a time to look at lifebooks and videos of boys when they were babies.  It is a time for telling stories about receiving our sons.  We also go take pictures of the boys with their special Guatemalan blankets.  Creating rituals is one bennefit of lifebooks, and one way to make adoption a normal part of life.

What special days do you celebrate in your family?  Do you have any rituals that have become part of your family life?
